Apopka's 1970s and 80s homes often still have their original panels, and on bigger lots the tub can sit a long way from the house. Panel condition and run length are what move the price here.
That range is a typical hot tub or swim spa hookup: a dedicated 240-volt circuit and a GFCI disconnect. Short runs from a panel with room are the low end; long or underground runs and panels without space are the top. Pool equipment circuit repairs are diagnosed at our service rate and priced before we fix them.
If you could swap the city name out of this page and it would still be accurate, it should not exist. Here is what actually changes here.
Many older Apopka homes still have their original panel, and some are replacement candidates. If yours has no room for a two-pole breaker or should not take another large load, we say so before we quote the tub.
Rock Springs and Wekiwa Springs properties can put the patio or pool area well away from the panel. Underground runs in conduit are the upper price tier, so we measure the real route.
Pool houses, sheds and outbuildings here were not always wired by an electrician. If the tub would be fed from one, we check that feed before trusting it with a 50 amp load.
Duke Energy serves most of Apopka. Permits go to the City of Apopka Building Department or Orange County outside city limits, and our office handles the filing and the inspection.
Same ranges we publish everywhere, because the work does not cost more just because of the zip code. You get an exact number at the free estimate.
William and Josh cover northwest Orange. You will have a name and a text before anyone is at your door.
"After getting the run around from other electricians I came across In Phase. Wish I found them first."
"Unlike some of their competitors, they don't try to up-sell products that aren't strictly necessary."
"Our old panel dated back to 1984 and was overdue for replacement. We worked directly with Keylin, who was outstanding from start to finish."
"…tried to over charge for work that was not even necessary. In Phaze offered an alternative option at a fraction of the cost."
Most 240-volt hot tubs need a 40, 50 or 60 amp circuit; swim spas can need more. The tub's spec sheet decides it, and we size the wire and breaker to match.
Yes. Code requires a disconnect within sight of the tub and at least 5 feet away from the water's edge, and the circuit must be GFCI protected. A GFCI disconnect handles both.
If it is rated for it, it needs its own GFCI-protected outlet on a dedicated circuit, not a shared patio outlet or an extension cord. Many people later convert to 240 volts so it heats faster.
Connecting the pool steel, rails, pump, ladders and nearby metal together so they sit at the same voltage. It is what keeps the water from shocking you. Missing or broken bonding shows up on inspections and should be fixed.
Get everyone out, turn off the pool equipment breakers, and call. Do not swim until it is tested.
We do the electrical side: circuits, disconnects, timers and bonding. The pool company sets the equipment itself.
Free estimate. If you do not need the work, we will tell you — which is why people in Apopka call us back years later.
