Generac builds more home standby generators than anyone in the United States, which is why parts, technicians and used-unit knowledge are everywhere in Central Florida. The Guardian line runs 10 to 26 kW on natural gas or propane with automatic transfer and Mobile Link remote monitoring.

Yes. We are a licensed Florida electrical contractor (ER13014254) and we install, wire, permit and commission Generac home standby generators and transfer switches across Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties. We size on your real load first, then recommend the unit.
Plan on $6,500–$9,500 for an essential-circuits standby (10–14 kW) and $9,500–$18,000 for whole-home (18–26 kW), including the transfer switch, pad, electrical and gas permits and a standard fuel run. Generac is usually the lowest installed price per kilowatt because the hardware is so widely stocked. The estimate is free and in person.
Essentials (fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, a well) fit in 7.5–10 kW. Add one central AC and you are at 13–14 kW. Whole-home with two AC systems is 22–26 kW. We run a load calculation on site instead of guessing from square footage.
On a level pad outside, with the manufacturer's clearances — typically 18 inches from the house, 5 feet from any window, door or vent, and clear of the AC condenser and gas meter. Orlando-area HOAs often want it screened and on the side yard; we handle the approval paperwork with you.
Mostly. Warehouse-club bundles (for example the “Guardian by Generac” 22 kW with a 200 A switch) use the same engine and controller but are sold as a bundle, and Generac extended-warranty options do not apply to them. Bring the model number to the estimate and we will tell you what it changes.
Yes. Every Guardian ships propane-ready and the installer converts it to natural gas on site. Output drops about 10–15% on natural gas, which is why the lineup lists two ratings.
Oil and filter every 200 hours or annually, battery every 3 years, and a weekly self-test (the unit does this itself). Hurricane season is the reason to do it in spring, not fall.
